- Fit the conditions created by the obstacle being crossed
WATERWAY AND FLOODPLAIN CROSSINGS
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic characteristics of the waterway and its floodplain
- favorable crossing locations
- Effect of the proposed bridge on flood flow patterns and the resulting scour-potential at bridge foundations
- The potential for creating new or augmenting existing flood hazards
- Environmental impacts on the waterway and its floodplain.
Conditions – Site should be free from
- Inclined Trees
- Seepage or Swampy Area
- Gully Erosion
- River Undercutting
